I was born and raised in a small town in good ol’ North Dakota, surrounded by quiet, everyday artists. My grandma could fill a room with music, my mom turned baking into an art form, and my aunt had a way with words that always stuck with me.
Creativity was never something I had to search for. It was always just there.
I fell in love with art early, usually hunched over My Little Pony coloring books, fully locked in and treating every page like it belonged in a museum.
In kindergarten—or “Kendra’garten”—when teachers asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer never changed: artist.
What started with crayons, coloring books, and glittery ponies slowly turned into something bigger, something that felt completely mine.
MORE ABOUT ME
I’m an art student at North Dakota State University, working toward a Bachelor of Fine Arts and art education degree. Most of my time is spent in the studio (or thinking about being in the studio), constantly starting, reworking, and creating.
I’m drawn to small, quiet moments and the details people tend to overlook, which shows up a lot in my work. I’m also a bit of a perfectionist, so I usually care more about the process than the final piece.
When I’m not making art, I’m working, balancing life, and being mildly interrupted by my cat, Alani, who insists on sitting on everything I do.
